Bosnia-Herzegovina and Qatar are meeting at the World Cup for the first time. Their only two previous encounters were friendlies, with Qatar winning 2-0 in January 2000 and the sides drawing 1-1 in August 2010.

Bosnia-Herzegovina are facing Asian opposition for just the second time in the FIFA World Cup, after winning 3-1 against Iran in 2014 – their only previous competition victory.
